Bachelor’s degree in chemistry, chemical engineering, or similar science
Solid technical background in laboratory work with 1-2 years of laboratory experience
Experience in cosmetic product development, preferably natural products and/or cold process soaps
Familiarity with GLP and GDP, preferably in an FDA-regulated environment
Strong interest in health and wellness
Comfort with a rapidly evolving work environment, and experience taking initiative
Responsibilities
The
Associate Scientist
will be part of the Research & Development team responsible for bringing new and innovative personal care products to life. This role will research and develop new soap products and work with our operations team to support continuous improvement of existing products. Specifically, this role will work in our R&D laboratory to prototype new products and evaluate new ingredients, fragrances, colorants, and designs.
Dr. Squatch is best known for our bar soaps, and this role will be a key contributor to the development efforts for new soap launches. An interest in contributing to new product ideas and excitement about new product development is key. The ideal candidate will balance the technical and scientific requirements of the role with the creative side of new product development and problem solving.
This role will report to the R&D Senior Scientist.
