Geri Psych Medical Director - BMC South

MD Board certified or Board Eligible in Psychiatry from an accredited school of medicine

BC/BE in Geriatric Psychiatry is preferred

Experience in working with multidisciplinary teams of clinicians who provide psychopharmacology and psychotherapy

The inpatient medical director specializes in evaluating, diagnosing and treating mental, emotional and behavioral disorders through medication, psychotherapy and other interventions on a geriatric psychiatry unit while providing administrative oversight to manage and improve the psychiatric inpatient services at BMC South.

Provide direct psychiatric services through comprehensive evaluation, diagnosis, treatment planning and treatment of patients on the Geriatric psychiatry unit at BMC South.

Make final decisions regarding admissions and discharges of patients in accordance with medical standards.

Prescribe and monitor psychotropic medications, adjusting dosages as necessary to ensure efficacy and minimize side effects

Supervise and evaluate advanced practice providers and faculty.

Lead quality improvement initiatives, ensure regulatory and accreditation compliance, and maintain departmental standards
