Requirements
Strong background in structural geology, with expertise in joint characterization and orientation analysis, and assessing the need of rock support installation (such as rock bolts, anchors, etc.).
NATM/SEM tunneling experience considered a strong asset.
Proficiency with geological and geotechnical software (e.g., DIPS, UnWedge).

Responsibilities
The Site Geologist will play a key role in integrating geological expertise into large‑scale urban infrastructure construction.
This position involves overseeing field operations such as secant pile drilling, open‑cut excavations, and NATM/SEM tunneling, while performing detailed geological mapping and bedrock assessments.
Geological Oversight & Field Operations
Conduct geological face mapping during open‑cut and SEM excavations in soil and bedrock.
Apply structural geology expertise to evaluate joint features, ground conditions, and support classes (RMR, GSI, Q Barton value).
Identify and recommend appropriate rock support measures to ensure stability of the exposed rock face.
About the Company
Ferrovial Construction Canada Inc. and VINCI Construction Grands Projets are undertaking the design, build, and finance of the Ontario Line Southern Civil, Stations, and Tunnel (South Civil) package.
As Ontario Transit Group, we are now mobilizing our design and construction crews, with major works. The South Civil contract is anticipated to be completed in 2030.
The project will strengthen Ontario’s economy by supporting an estimated 1,500 jobs at the peak of construction.
