Compensation & Benefits

The hourly rate is $20.00 per hour.

This position is an important member of the Augsburg Department of Public Safety (DPS). Casual Part-Time officers are supplemental staff with flexible and varying work shifts that meet the needs of both the University and public safety professionals. Candidates hired into this casual part-time position who are seeking full-time employment and are successful will receive priority consideration for future full-time openings, when available. Casual/part-time positions are not benefits-eligible

Responsibilities

This environment is attained through proactive patrol of the campus buildings and ground and through positive interactions with the community we serve.

Provide required services to the Augsburg University Community, including: walking or driving escorts, locking and unlocking of campus buildings according to class schedules and events, and providing information and assistance to the community as needed.

Respond to emergency and non-emergency requests for assistance.

Initiate and coordinate Police, Fire, and EMS response as needed.

Monitor campus activities and facilities through proactive patrol and observation.

Identify after hours’ facilities issues and assist in the coordination of emergency maintenance response.
