CLASS DEFINITION

An Instrumentation Technician Supervisor I oversee the activities of subordinate workers engaged in the installation, maintenance and repair of electronic, hydraulic and mechanical equipment in treatment plants, pumping stations and related facilities. Work of this class involves supervising instrumentation technicians.

Incumbents receive general supervision from a technical superior. Employees in this class work a conventional work week; callback or overtime work may be required in emergencies. Work is performed in pumping stations where incumbents are exposed to noise, heat, high voltage equipment, chemicals, dirt, and toxic or explosive gases. Work requires moderate physical exertion.
