Requirements

8+ years of marketing experience, with a record of success in developing successful marketing campaigns for serious non-fiction titles, including effective preorder and digital marketing campaigns.

Demonstrated ability to think strategically, creatively, and proactively about title-specific campaigns and imprint-level initiatives.

Robust understanding of social media marketing, metadata and keywords best practices, and SEO.

Thirst for knowledge about consumers and the market and interest in exploring new audiences, platforms, and tactics for reaching readers.

Responsibilities

Develop and oversee title-specific marketing campaigns across Basic Books Group\u2019s six imprints, serving as a primary point of contact for authors and agents through the entire campaign cycle.

Develop and execute preorder campaigns, advertising plans, influencer and organizational partnerships, and platform-specific social media strategies for relevant titles to drive sales.

Develop and oversee Basic Books Group\u2019s academic marketing strategy.

Develop and execute strategic plans for ongoing marketing on Basic Books Group\u2019s backlist.

Develop programs for direct-to-consumer outreach in core publishing categories in concert with Hachette\u2019s central marketing strategy department.

Develop and execute brand marketing initiatives, including for imprint-specific and group-wide social media channels, newsletters, and websites, to increase brand awareness, audience growth, and sales.
