Baggage Service Associate - Calgary Airport

Baggage sorting work and experience in material handling equipment preferred but not required.

Prior experience in baggage handling or airport operations is an asset but not required.

Baggage Handling System Associates are responsible for removing items that cause jams and will be required to perform physical baggage handling in the event of system failures.

Other responsibilities include inducting, scanning, clearing, and monitoring bags to keep them flowing properly.

The MES (Manual Encoding System) Operator and Bag Jam Operators report to the Operations Supervisor and System Operator Controllers and will be required to report consistent baggage jams that occur on the conveyor belts and on the sorting system.

Primary function is to induct bags onto the Baggage System Via the in-feeds in a methodical and procedural manner.

Ensure smooth running of systems by attending to jams IMMEDIATELY and also making sure the system is not damaged after removing items that caused jam.

To monitor and clear any blockages that prevents the flow of baggage.
