Requirements

Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in mechanical work within the construction industry, with specific experience in tunneling or underground construction preferred.

Proven track record in a supervisory role, with strong leadership skills and the ability to manage and motivate a team of mechanical workers.

Proficient in reading and interpreting mechanical drawings, specifications, and blueprints. Strong knowledge of SEM tunneling processes and the mechanical systems involved.

Deep understanding of safety regulations and best practices, particularly in the context of tunneling and underground construction. Certification in safety management or related fields is an asset.

Excellent communication skills, with the ability to effectively liaise with engineers, site managers, and other stakeholders.

Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically and develop solutions to complex mechanical challenges.

Responsibilities

The Mechanical Foreman leads and supervises mechanical works for SEM and tunneling operations, ensuring safe, efficient installation and maintenance of equipment. This role is responsible for coordinating with project teams to align schedules, enforce quality standards, and manage resources. Additionally, they safety compliance, conduct inspections, and resolve mechanical issues to keep tunneling activities on track.

Key Responsibilities:

Mechanical Supervision

Oversee the installation, maintenance, and operation of mechanical equipment related to SEM & tunneling activities.

Ensure that all mechanical works are carried out safely, efficiently, and according to project specifications.

About the Company

Ferrovial Construction Canada Inc. and VINCI Construction Grands Projects are undertaking the design, build, and finance the Ontario Line Southern Civil, Stations, and Tunnel (South Civil) package.

As Ontario Transit Group, we are now mobilizing our design and construction crews, with major works. The South Civil contract is anticipated to be completed in 2030.

The project will strengthen Ontario’s economy by supporting an estimated 1,500 jobs at the peak of construction.
