Requirements

High school diploma or GED preferred but not required.

3 to 5 years of mechanical experience or the equivalent of professional training is preferred.

1 to 3 years of supervisory or lead technician experience is preferred.

Ability to work outdoors in the elements.

An aptitude for mechanical diagnosis and repair.

Demonstrated experience with repairing equipment.

Responsibilities

Troubleshooting, performing diagnostic testing, load-bank testing, start-ups on generators, and performing preventative maintenance and repairs on generator systems.

Drain the oil and replace it to the manufacturer specifications.

Inspect the generator for leaks and potential issues.

Install new parts, such as air filters, oil filters, and batteries.

Lubricate moving parts as necessary, including those in the engine and wheel bearings and ensure the engine is kept clean throughout servicing.

Diagnose existing issues and consult with Maintenance Manager to address the generator issues.
