Requirements
Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Engineering and 3+ years of relevant experience in design and development of Automotive electrical wiring harnesses and associated components for commodities such as but not limited to Door/Instrument panel/Engine room/roof/floor harnesses
Education with the following specialties preferred: Mechanical, Mechanical Technology, Aerospace, Automotive, Manufacturing.
Experience in wiring harness routing, wire sizing, bundle diameter calculation, mounting hardware selection
Experience in design and development of sheetmetal brackets, and good stamping DFM understanding
Ability to understand the electrical schematics and pinouts.
3+ years of Experience using CATIA V5 for 3D modeling, harness routing and drafting
Responsibilities
Lead and support the engineering activities for large scale product development programs by investigating feasibility, performing design using 3-D modeling software, conduct layout review and 2D drawing creation.
Analyze and resolve complex problems independently or with minimal guidance.
Create part specification requirements and BOM.
Negotiate with surrounding component business units and suppliers.
Perform cost analysis, strength calculations and material selection.
Use best practices and knowledge of internal or external business issues to improve product and/or processes.
