Requirements

A bachelor's degree in Surveying/Geomatics or 2 to 5 years of experience in construction surveying, with a strong understanding of civil works practices.

Ability to adapt to changing work schedules (day or night shifts) and weather conditions.

Prior experience working on construction monitoring projects is preferred.

Proficiency in using surveying equipment, including total stations and digital levels.

Strong understanding of monitoring methodologies and their purpose within construction projects.

Excellent knowledge of Leica survey equipment is preferred.

Responsibilities

The Monitoring Surveyor plays a vital role in ensuring the structural integrity of the Ontario Line South project by collecting and analyzing critical data throughout the construction phases.

Working as part of a mobile team, you'll be responsible for conducting various monitoring activities across different project sites, sometimes including working within active construction zones. This 24/7 rotating shift (including nights, weekends, and on-call) schedule demands flexibility, strong communication skills, and the ability to adapt to changing weather and traffic conditions.

The salary range for this position is $70,000 CAD - $85,000 CAD, plus additional benefits.

Key Responsibilities:

Conduct various monitoring activities as directed by the Monitoring Lead Surveyor, including readings from Building Monitoring Points (BMPs), Surface Monitoring Points (SMPs), Ground Monitoring Points (GMPs), and Utility Monitoring Points (UMPs).

Communicate with the Monitoring Lead Surveyor and traffic control supervisors to ensure safety and efficient data collection.
