Founded in 1977, Air North, Yukon’s Airline, is a proud emblem of the Yukon community, with 49% ownership by the Vuntut Gwitchin First Nation. Reflecting its deep local roots, the airline provides jobs and equity opportunities for roughly one in ten Yukon households, making it a cornerstone of the region’s employment and economic landscape. Operating a fleet of Boeing and ATR 42 aircraft, Air North connects the Yukon to a wide network of destinations, including the Northwest Territories, British Columbia, Alberta, and seasonally to Ontario. As a wholly Yukon-owned airline with substantial Vuntut Gwitchin First Nation involvement and ownership, Air North is dedicated to offering a uniquely local travel experience. Enjoy fresh food, comfortable seating, and the warm hospitality that defines the Yukon. In 2020, Air North was the delighted recipient of Best Airline in Canada and Best Airline - Specialty and Leisure (North America) from Tripadvisor as part of their Travellers’ Choice Awards based on customer reviews. Air North also offers charter services throughout North America (excluding Hawaii).
